For 17 years I worked for a well known company:  The Grass Valley Group.  I started there February 5th 1979.  I was Down sized January 26th 1996.  I held several different jobs.  I spent 8 years as a production test technician.  The rest of the time was spent in product development engineering as an engineering technician, an associate engineer and than as a development engineer.  I spent most of my engineering life working in the Editor Products Engineering  group.  We designed and built the Grass Valley Video tape editors.  The VPE product line and "Super Edit" software.   I contributed to the IPS-100: Integrated Production System,  the AMX-170: Automated Audio Console for video editing applications, and I developed the VPE keyboard. My last post at GV/Tektronix was as the Engineering Lab Manager.

In March 2000 I began regular duties as the Technical Director of then Don Baggett Theatre at Nevada Union High School.  I expected to bring my experience as a theatrical designer to the school and use it to support the performing arts programs.  I have done that.  In addition I am experiencing something I never thought could happen.  I am  involved with sharing my life experiences with students in an invitation only class.  I am teaching the basics of practical theatre as related to sound, lighting and the process of theatre.
